Yodi Gerbremedhi talks about her migration journey from Ethiopia to Canada. She outlines how she first followed her brother to Italy and studied for a while there, later coming to Canada to avoid possibly being sent them back to Ethiopia. She speaks about her early experience in Canada, working part-time and full-time jobs, and studying at school. She continues to work at the Toronto Community Living Centre. She describes difficulties that immigrants may face when raising children in Canada because of drug and substance abuse.
