A former Teaching Assistant for a women and gender studies course at UTSC, Brandy Jensen reflects on the evolution of her academic and feminist activism. Brandy speaks about the forms of oppression, such as class and race, that have influenced her life as a white settler as well as her experience of making sense of social injustice as a child and teenager. Brandy also touches upon the politics of funding and accessibility that are present in her academic journey. Brandy discusses her shifting mindset when it came to standing up against homophobia both in the workplace and as a TA, as well as using her power to meaningfully mentor and promote justice.
