Kimberley shares her undergraduate student experience at UTSC in the late 90s and the path that brought her to the position of UTSC Manager of Community Development and Engagement. She shares her sense of the changing gender and racial diversity, and student life on campus in the 90s. She notes for example, that out of the 20 courses that she took in her undergraduate career, none were taught by instructors of colour and only three taught by female faculty. Kimberley shares her passion for community work and the importance of building relationships within UTSC and with partners outside of the institution. She talks about how important these community relationships were to her as a student and how important they continue to be for the student experience and the community at large.
