Professor Sandford Borins was Chair of the UTSC Management Department from 1991-2003 (with two years of research leave). Prof. Borins came to UTSC in 1990 with a mandate to "design a new undergraduate Management Program" and speaks about the related administrative and academic challenges including the relationship with the St. George Campus cognate departments like the Rotman School. He talks about the importance of the co-op program in building connections with the broader community for students and the department. After 2003, Prof. Borins continued to teach, research, and publish as a faculty member of the university.
