Description
Denise Lopes began her career at UTSC in 2004. Acting in an administrative role in the Humanities Department, Denise soon shifted to a student advising role in the Registar's Office. During her long career advising students on academic matters and financial aid, Denise was able to make big differences in the academic and personal lives of UTSC students. In 2021, Denise became the Access Programs Co-ordinator. In this new role, Denise is working on launching a Transition Year Program at UTSC that offers mature students and marginalized youth a pathway to attending university. Denise is also particularly invested in equity and diversity work on campus; she sits on the board of campus committees that strive to make change for people of colour in the university system.
